Our Opportunity:
WMAL / Washington DC seeks a fulltime News Anchor/Reporter four our busy newsroom in the Nation’s Capital. The successful candidate will have experience working in an aggressive news operation, focused on Breaking News and local issues, such as transportation, local government, education, politics, etc. The position includes a combination of regular anchor shifts, and regular street reporting assignments.
Applicants should demonstrate writing skills, creative use of audio, field production techniques, and the ability to work quickly and accurately in breaking news situations.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of one year’s experience both anchoring and reporting in a professional news environment. Familiarity with current digital production techniques a must, and experience in website editing is preferred.
