Passing of Ted Dorf, Former VP & GM of WGAY-FM & WWRC-AM, Washington, DC

Ted Dorf passed away on Christmas Day after battling a rare form of blood cancer for 20 years. He was a radio icon in the 80’s and 90’s running WGAY-FM and WWRC-AM in Washington, DC.

His family remembers very fondly growing up spending each summer in Ocean City where MDCD held a convention.

Ted was quite unique in that he was with WGAY throughout his entire career from the original owner John Kluge, to Connie B. Gay and then Greater Media.

Ted loved the radio industry and was very well respected throughout the country.
