Market Engineer

Location/Market: Washington, D.C. 

Summary

The position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all studio equipment.  

Essential Functions

Candidates will have a vast knowledge of TV broadcast engineering and transmission, news operational and technical environments which include news automation systems, studio and field cameras,   non-linear editing systems, newsroom systems, cg graphics interfaces.  Candidates must be able to lift at least 40-50 pounds, have a general IT knowledge that includes fax machines, IT switches and routers, ISP modems, voice over IP phones, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility

The position will report directly to the VP of Engineering with dotted line reporting to the SVP.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full Time position, Monday through Friday. Actual hours and schedule may vary,  and may possibly include after hours,  and weekend work as needed. 

Required Education and Experience

Familiarization with Harris/Gates Air full and low power transmitters,  Grass Valley Ignite system,  JVC/Panasonic and Sony studio and field cameras,  Chyron graphics interfaces,  Adobe Premier non-linear editing systems,  Harmonic encoders, Nevion transmission stream gateways,  and other related gear as necessary.
